About
I believe in the power of a positive, encouraging therapy relationship to help clients get through difficult times, realize their potential and pursue their dreams. Having been through some major life transitions myself, I am interested in supporting people through the process of re-evaluating and re-inventing themselves in an authentic way. Believing we are often hardest on ourselves, I strive to help clients cultivate both self-awareness and self-compassion. I work towards integrating the knowledge of the mind with the wisdom of the heart to empower clients to bring increased capacity to their lives and relationships.
In my former life, I was a practicing lawyer. Recognizing law did not have enough scope for my supportive, nurturing instincts, I gave up my practice in order to search for a different career – something that allowed me to focus on relationships of warmth, heart, and compassion. I have training in a variety of therapeutic techniques and theories, including Lifespan Integration therapy (LI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. Both through my training and my practical experience as a mother, I have a strong interest in Attachment Theory and how it applies to parenting and love relationships.
My optimism and enthusiasm enable me to see the best in my clients, and to help them recognize and appreciate the best in themselves.
